Sailing has a new superstar and we’ve known about his mercurial talent for years. Cole Tapper, so long ‘tapping’ on the door of a big win has broken through with a sensational Congressional Cup win and is well on the pathway to being uttered in the same breath as Marco Gradoni, Harry Melges, Seb Menzies and Enzo Balanger as a potential America’s Cup winner. Cole has class and raw talent just coursing through his veins and out in Long Beach this weekend just never gave up. This kid doesn’t know when he’s beat and putting that Crimson Blazer on must have felt sweet as hell and I just love the fact that they all jumped in the pool afterwards…that’s what dry cleaners are for.
