The noun ‘acquisition’ is a curiously vague term that investment bankers and private equity PR spinners like to use to mask transactions that might not be exactly what the public, the media and perhaps the market perceive. I am always wary when I hear the word ‘acquisition’ as 30 years in the City of London as a spinner just makes me feel a little suspicious. So when I saw the headline from SailGP regarding the ‘acquisition’ of Rockwool Denmark by American Magic, the hackles went up. But we won’t know for sure until next year’s Report & Accounts are filed at Companies’ House in London for F50 GB League Limited (you can see the current filings on the website), when probably most of us will have all forgotten…
