Down at Hayling Island this week it’s ‘war on the water’ for 128 sailors from 19 countries competing in the ILCA European Masters where knee pain is a thing, backs are sore and the Racing Rules of Sailing in such big fleets is being thoroughly brushed-up on. The weather is kind, with light summer’s air and bright sunshine. What a wonderful scene the ILCA’s are when they get together. I have friends at the front and back of the fleets, and I wish them all a brilliant regatta.
