With the Rolex Sydney-Hobart race just around the corner on Boxing Day, it’s the usual conundrum of trying to pick a winner from the six 100 footer maxis, led by Christian Beck’s LawConnect that has snaffled the line honours in both the 2023 and 2024 races. Hard to bet against them doing the same in the 80th running of the event but Matt Allen & James Mayo sailing Master Lock Commanche is always the go-to when you think speed machines - but will light airs see that skimming dish sucked to the water and stalled? Big question.
