It's like the country has won the (sailing) lottery...
You can barely open a website or a blogsite without hearing some unbelievably good news coming out of Italy. Yes there’s that huge investment in the America’s Cup in Naples plus there’s Foiling Week in Malcesine in progress right now, and as you read this, the proper dinghies (ie the International Moths) will be racing.
Then there’s the news of Jimmy Spithill, Hans-Peter Steinacher and Ruggi Tita launching, and being the faces of, the Red Bull Sailing Academy in Marina Monfalcone (more on that later) and of course the relentless news around Luna Rossa signing up Alfa Romeo, Josh Junior, Il Pistola, Unipol, Pirelli and Panerai all before you’ve got of bed, and way before a Protocol is signed.
