It’s A-level results day in the United Kingdom and I have to say that in our household last night and this morning you cut the tension, the nervous tension, with a knife. Thankfully all was relieved as the Hurricane absolutely aced it and trips off to study mathematics at Bath University with a spring in his step. Phew. But what comes to mind for me is how we sat down a good year ago and said “hard work pays” and that to achieve the very top grades, you’ve got to sweat it. Don’t half bake it (or words to that effect). Be the very best version of you that you can. It’s a life lesson that if you read the books by the late, great John Rousmaniere who sadly left us on Saturday after a battle with a cruel affliction and will be much missed, is more than evident.
